1892-10-27Work on the Preston street trestle stopped at the boundary of C.P.R. land (the old St. Lawrence & Ottawa Railway limits) after the C.P.R. objected to any building on ground under its control; if insisted on, this would require a steel bridge with a span of over one hundred feet instead. Negotiations were pending between Mr. Booth, the O.A. & P.S. company and the C.P.R., with an amicable arrangement hoped for. Ottawa Free Press 1892-10-27(Transcribed by Colin J.
