| 1893-12-02 | The O.A. & P.S. station at Arnprior was built in 1893. In July the situation was still uncertain (a council meeting on July 19 with Mr. Mountain representing the company reached no conclusion), then the town council gave part of Tierney street for the station grounds — otherwise the station would have been placed in Mansfield — and on August 3 Mr. Mountain said the site had been fixed on Tierney street "right in the center of the town". Mr. Booth and party made final arrangements for the ground, a short distance south of the C.P.R.'s station, and Mr. Donaldson arranged delivery of building material, buying brick and stone; construction had begun by August 22-26 at the end of Tierney street, "a large handsome building". It was expected completed in a week or ten days on October 21, and by December 2 it had been completed and was occupied, its rooms large, clean-looking, airy and handsomely furnished, with red pine finish stained and varnished, "a model one in every respect". | Almonte Gazette 1893-07-21(Arnprior News.
