| 1921-06-24≤ | From 24 June 1921 (the issue date), the paper announced: "The Government intends to shortly close the local station of the G.T.R. and use the C.N.R. station. Mr. E.C. Higginson has been appointed town ticket agent for the two companies, Mr. McCrea's office is to be closed." An intention, not a report of the closing. | Eastern Ontario Review 1921-06-24(Transcribed by Colin J. Churcher in 'Local Railway...) | |
| 1921-09-23≥ | By 23 September 1921 (the issue date), the paper reported: "An important event in town this week was the closing of the Grand Trunk station. Beginning on Thursday morning the Grand Trunk trains arriving or starting from Hawkesbury left at the CNR station. The schedule is not altered in any way." The G.T.R. staff was to be placed on the reserve list, and "it is also likely that the services of the watchman at the Main Street crossing will now be dispensed with." | Eastern Ontario Review 1921-09-23(Transcribed by Colin J. | 1921-09-30≥ | By 30 September 1921 (the issue date), the paper reported: "The personnel of the G.T.R. station and freight office have mostly all been transferred to the C.N.R. station. Mr. Onesime Bertrand was moved to Davenport for a couple of months, while Mr. Partridge is not yet placed." | Eastern Ontario Review 1921-09-30(Transcribed by Colin J. | 1980-03-18≥ | By 18 March 1980 (the issue date), the paper reported: Hawkesbury town council "probably rang the death knell for the old Canadian National Railways freight station here at Monday's meeting when it withdrew previous objections to the proposed closure of the depot", which the railway had announced two years earlier. Councillor Claude Drouin said "There's no service (at the station) already": its sole employee had ceased work recently and not been replaced. Filed on Hawkesbury Depot, the Canadian National station at Hawkesbury; the item calls it the "old Canadian National Railways freight station" (inference that it is the same building). | Ottawa Citizen 1980-03-18(Transcribed by Colin J.
