"The old railway bridge is used by snowmobiles and all-terrain vehicles to cross the Madawaska River. For 23 years it has been part of the trail corridor." The Ministry of Natural Resources closed it in 2008; the railings were poor, "the timber piles were rotten. The steel truss, however, was in good condition", and the stone abutments were of historical interest. The preferred alternative was to remove the wooden portions and retain the steel centre trestle, seeking a partner to rebuild. Transcribed by Colin J.
