1894-11-09The steel on the O.A. & P.S. is now laid as far as the crossing of the Madawaska, twenty miles west of Barry's Bay. The building of the bridge will delay them there for some days as the building could not be commenced until the steel reached that point to bring in the necessary stone, cement and iron superstructure for the bridge.
Madawaska is about 22 miles west of Barrys Bay.

2009-12-15≥By 15 December 2009 (the issue date), the paper reported: About 20 people attended an information session on what to do with "the old Madawaska River Bridge just east of the Village of Madawaska". "The old railway bridge is used by snowmobiles and all-terrain vehicles to cross the Madawaska River. For 23 years it has been part of the trail corridor." The Ministry of Natural Resources closed it in 2008; the railings were poor, "the timber piles were rotten. The steel truss, however, was in good condition", and the stone abutments were of historical interest. The preferred alternative was to remove the wooden portions and retain the steel centre trestle, seeking a partner to rebuild.
Filed on the Madawaska River Bridge near Barrys Bay (noted as 20 miles west of Barrys Bay), as the bridge just east of Madawaska village (inference).
